Academics

To walk into an elementary classroom is to walk into a world of wonder and endless possibilities. At The Shri Ram School, nurturing and celebrating each child’s individuality is of prime importance at any given point in time. Every family that partners with us comes with their own set of beliefs and principles – that reflect in their child – across various dimensions. It is our endeavour to maintain those principles whilst integrating alongside, the core values of the school, to empower them to be well-rounded individuals in a global community. Instilling in them virtues of sensitivity, integrity, taking pride in one’s own heritage and laying emphasis on pursuit of excellence, we facilitate their entire journey right from Pravesh Vatika onwards. The foundation years set the tone for future schooling with the objective of nurturing young minds and empowering them to adapt to an ever-changing world around them. The S T E A M project and the setup of the literacy and numeracy centres through the year allow collaboration, exploration and discovery. While working in smaller groups, the children build skills through application and construct on their prior knowledge with minimum intervention from the facilitator. Pursuit of happiness, being the crux of the elementary classrooms, ensures that TSRS is ‘A Happy Place’ to be in, for every child.

Curriculum

Blended Curriculum For Modern Education Pedagogy needs to evolve to keep up with the changing needs of the 21st century. The pedagogy in India was shaped by the requirements laid down by the colonial powers and chiefly required recalling of facts and the curricula created reflected that need. The times have changed and the present pedagogy requires the teacher to encourage students to develop and communicate, reflect on, synthesise and apply knowledge. The NCERT has done significant work in this respect. However, no single curriculum has all the features that we require; hence we created our own student-centric curriculum that supports our vision. The Shri Ram Global School’s flexible learning curriculum has the best content from NCERT, Next Education, CIE, ACCA and others. Our methods include:

Roots of Our Curriculum

We have taken elements of Montessori, Reggio Emilia and IB-PYP and integrated them into our curriculum. This has helped us provide facilities and ideas of international standards that will allow our students the freedom to make life choices later. Our curriculum is constructivist in its approach and will enable students to learn through experiences in their own environment. This includes skills like reading, problem-solving and the ability to integrate ideas. Hence, a Shri Ram Global classroom has students constantly engaged in well-balanced activities that help them understand concepts deeply.
